Getting Your New Cricut Machine Up and Running
So you just got a new Cricut machine and don't know where to begin...
Well, we've all been there, so don't worry; it's not as difficult as it appears.
You'll also need an online account for your new Cricut so you can utilize Cricut's Design Studio, which is the machine's operating software. Only newer machines, such as the Explore, Explore One, Explore Air 1 and 2, and the new Cricut Maker, are supported by the software.
Did you know that you don't need a computer to create a DS account? Yes, you'll need the machine to cut things out, but you won't need it to experiment with the pictures and software. So, if you've recently purchased a new machine, it would be a good idea to dig into the DS so that when your Cricut arrives at your door, you'll know what to do next. Cricut crafting, like any other talent, has a learning curve, and learning to use DS before purchasing the machine may make it a bit simpler.
Go to cricut.com setup and click the green get started button to establish an account. After that, you'll be sent to a screen where you may download a plug-in. Click on the Download button. Double-click the downloaded file to open or execute it. (If you can't locate it, it should be in your computer's download folder). When the Cricut installer appears, select Next, read and accept the agreement, and then select Install. When the installation is finished, click done in the installer window and then the browser's proceed button. You'll be sent to a Cricut sign-in screen. Simply log in if you already have a Cricut ID account. If this is your first time, you must first register.
For your Cricut, you just need one ID account. Even if you have several machines, they may all be controlled by the same account. If you buy a digital image from the Cricut site, it will be uploaded to the account you used to buy it, and it will not be used in any other accounts.
To establish a Cricut ID account, go to the Create Cricut ID page, fill in the needed information, and agree to the terms of service. Make sure your information is correct since you will need a valid shipping address if you ever purchase actual products from the Cricut website.
A free trial is offered with certain of the freshly acquired computers. When you connect the machine to the computer for the first time, the trial will begin.
Simply go to cricutsetup and pick the design tab at the top of the page, or simply click the Cricut app icon, which should have been loaded on your computer following the Cricut app installation procedure.
Once you learn more about your Cricut machine, you'll fall in love with it. Because DS is a rather simple visual software, don't be irritated if you get stuck. It will take some time to understand everything in DS, but once you do, it will be well worth it.
